April 3, 2004 Auckland Maritime Museum and Barrack
Tour
To celebrate the success of the marine
campaign and CCET’s 2nd anniversary, we have organised
a trip to Auckland Maritime Museum and Northhead Old Barrack.
Our Chairperson Estella and 2 volunteers, Letty and Julia
had paid a special visit to the Museum a day before so
as to prepare the talk and explanation to the participants
on the day. Thanks a lot for their time. After lunch and
birthday song, we started our afternoon activities. We
watched the Northhead history documentary and did the
coastal walk. Senior archaeologist Dave Veart from Department
of Conservation led us through the old barracks, ammunition
rooms and tunnels that were specially opened for our group.
