About 50 people went to Auckland Botanic Gardens on Saturday
29 April 2006 to celebrate CCET's 4th birthday party.
The weather was wet, but the participants enjoyed greatly at
the event. Mr Jack Hobbs, the curator of the Garden who is the Curator Manager,
gave a very interesting and informative speech. He also took us
tour of a large part of the Gardens including the Threatened Plant Garden and the Potters Children
Garden.
We also got to meet with Miss Ani Vector as "Agent Ani" in her full costume who is the special agent of environment for the Gardens’ kids program.
Other fun activities included “swap a pest
plant with a native plant” and Chinese character matching, and of course the cutting of our
birthday cake and the yummy lunch.
The event finished around 2pm after a talk in the Garden's library
on how to identify pest plants.
