Chinese Conservation Education Trust (CCET) has taken part in the Chinese New Year Festival organised by Auckland Chinese Community Centre on 3rd February 2007 at Greenlane Showground.

On the early morning, the CCET has set its booths up in the showground. It was decorated by the CCET banners, the DOC banners, and the display boards with full of the photos and paints of CCET activities and CITES. There were also several brochures about CCET, CITES, WRC, and MAF etc.

From the 9:00 am, the local Chinese as well as people of other communities came into the showground. It is about 55,000 people visited the showground on the day, estimated by the authority informed to ACCC. Anand Satyanand, Governor-General of New Zealand, Helen Clark, Priminister, John Key, Chairman of National Party, Chris Carter, Minister of Conservation, of Housing, and of Ethnic Affairs, Phil Goff, Minister of Justice, of Trade, of Defense, David Cunliffe, Minister of Communications, of Information Technology, of Immigration, and lots of MPs from each parties have presented the event, and celebrating the Chinese New Year with visitors.

The games CCET performed were very attracting. After the people answered the questionnaire on conservation, and checked to be correct, a recycle bag rewarded. This made the CCET stand the hottest on in the hall. We also have delivered thousands different kinds brochures.

We had nearly 20 CCET trustees and volunteers in the booth on the day, to deliver the brochures, and managed the games. The success was greatly dependant on the enthusiasm of our volunteers. We also had greatly supported by DoC.
