27 August 2006
South_East group had a public talk

About 20 Chinese residents of Auckland south and east area came to a talk oraganised by the CCET South-East Group. The talk was held at the Howick Recreation Centre on Sunday 27 August.

Two topics were covered in the talk. The first was “Energy Saving” presented by CCET volunteer Megan Geng. She is a student studying in Unitec. She gave us a lot of useful tips on how to save on electricity. The second one was “Pest plants and animals” presented by Ken Tse, Chairman of CCET. He talked about the control of unwanted pest plants and animals at home and in the wild. We learnt that some good plants in China can be pest plants in NZ. This is something we have to careful of.

It was the first activity organized by the CCET South-East Group. There were a lot of things they could learn from this experience. They will definitely be able to improve a lot in the future activities.
