The detector dog open day
at MAF quarantine centre has been welcomed by the members
with 190 people attending on 21 June. Staff from Ministry
of Agriculture & Fishery and Department of Conservation
explained to the participants about prohibited items brought
into New Zealand and why they are prohibited. People were
excited when the dogs gave a demonstration on how to detect
the illegal items from passenger’s luggage and parcels.
