| The Warrenheip property,
near Cambridge, includes 16 hectares of regenerating native
forest enclosed by pest-proof fencing. The property overlooks
the Karapiro dam and is home to a number of “Operation
Nest Egg” kiwis, endangered brown teal ducks and
giant weta. There are also many mosses, ferns and ground
covers that are not frequently seen in areas of bush that
are home to pests. We were impressed by what David &
Juliette Wallace, the owner, and their volunteers had
achieved. On the return journey, we visited the new themed
garden and permaculture garden in Hamilton Garden.
