This was the first activity
of the “Marine Campaign”. At 9 am in the
morning, 109 participants got on board the 68-year-old
steam ship “W.C. Daldy” and started our
educational fun day. Everybody was busy on the day.
We had fishing, with officers from Ministry of Fishery
to tell us about the legal sizes and quantities for
different fishes and shellfishes. The land fishing game
and the question and answer section reinforced our knowledge
on the fishing rules. Department of Conservation officer,
Emma Rush, also gave a talk on the importance of marine
reserves. Big thanks to Allen and Ken who volunteer
their help on the fishing section of the day. |
