Lamb Feeding at Ambury Park
by Ruby Chan

I went to feed the lovely little lambs and the calves every Sunday morning. It’s really great to watch my “daughters” growing bigger and bigger when I visited them each time. They made big noises when they saw us coming towards them because they were hungry. I could feed 2 little lambs at a time, they sucked the bottles with hard effort, and finished all within a short time. Sometimes there were 16 to 18 of them, but we had only 4 “mothers “, so we had to get them out of the paddock in a few batches. After they finished the milk, they would go away, so we had to show them the bottles again. Of course this time they were only the empty ones. Then they would obey to orders and stay calm, quiet, walking in the open area and enjoyed their lives, and waited for the next feeding.
